评价理论视角下政治文献翻译中译者的主体性研究

Study on Translator’s Subjectivity in Political Documents Translation from the Perspective of Appraisal Theory

本文是以系统功能语言学的评价理论为分析框架,以政治文献翻译中译者的主体性为研究对象,基于汉、英对应政治文献语料库展开的一项研究。通过对比汉、英互译中译文与原文在态度、介入和级差系统内选择的异同,揭示评价理论视角下政府文献翻译中不同译向译者的主体建构方式。研究发现,在汉译英中,译者的主体性主要借助可靠性、估值性、断言、数量、品质、过程和聚焦等范畴在原文与译文中选择的差异体现;在英译汉中,译者的主体性主要借助对立、接纳、数量、体积、品质、过程和聚焦等资源在原文与译文中的不同选择实现。在评价理论视角下,在不同译向的政治文献翻译中,译者主体性的体现方式不同。

This paper explores translator’s subjectivity in political documents translation. It is a contrastive study based on Chinese-English Parallel Political Documents Corpus of Appraisal Meaning. It aims to reveal the ways of translator’s subjectivity construction based on the contrastive analysis of source and target language’s choice in attitude, engagement and graduation. The statistics show that in Chinese-English translation, the translators tend to employ tenacity, valuation, pronounce, number, quality, process and focus to manifest their subjectivity, and in English-Chinese translation, the translators are inclined to use counter, entertain, number, mass, quality, process and focus. For their different purposes and positions, Chinese-English translation and English-Chinese translation adopt different ways to construct translator’s subjectivity from the perspective of Appraisal Theory.
