Choice and Balance:Western Painting Retouching under the Perspective of Modern Conservation Theory

在绘画修复中,“补全”是将作品中缺损断裂的画意重新补充衔接完整的一道重要步骤。在西方历史上,尤其是在现代文物保护运动兴起后,不同的文物价值考量深刻影响着不同的绘画补全理念与方法。这些理念与方法的演变、更替,以及期间伴随的摩擦与冲突,是现代文物保护理论与实践探索、发展的一个缩影。通过对绘画补全的文物价值观念以及补全理念与方法等进行梳理、分析,并以此为切入点,进一步探讨现代文物保护中理论与实践的平衡问题,可为我国方兴未艾的文物保护事业提供一定的理论参考。

The practice of retouching is a kind of method used to reintegrate paintlosses,which plays a critical role in painting conservation and restoration.In western history,especially after the Modern Conservation Movement,different considerations of cultural relics value have profoundly influenced different retouching ideas and methods.An epitome of the exploration and development of modern cultural relics protection theory and practice can be found in the evolution and replacement of these ideas and methods,as well as the contradictions and conflicts accompanying in this process.This paper begins with a brief combing of retouching ideas,methods and the comprehensive philosophical underpinnings.Then special attention is given to the balance between theory and practice in contemporary treatment.As a result,a certain theoretical reference can be provided for the ascendant cause of cultural relics protection in our country.
