Edgetech 3200 sub-bottom profiler is a sonar instrument produced by Edgetech Company.The original data collected by this instrument can be saved as XTF format data file.XTF format is a general open sonar data storage format,and its file structure is very flexible.In this paper,the XTF format data files collected by Edgetech 3200 sub-bottom profiler are taken as a research object.Referring to the XTF format description documents,the data files of sub-bottom profiles are analyzed,and the decoding of the files and sub-bottom profile images generation are realized by programming.
