In this interview,Viola reflects on his life experiences from his college when he was first introduced to video to his career with video art,covering a series of practices and theories he has made over the years.In their discussion,Viola and Bellour share their views on the development of video art and digital technology,computers,television,cinema,video games,video discs,with a focus on technology,culture,and media.Through this interview,it is clear that Viola values the intellectual side of video art and the physical side of technology,and that his works always try to strike a conceptual balance between humanity and technology.
