敦煌变文“勃笼宛转”考辨

A Textual Research of Bolong Wanzhuan in Dunhuang Bianwen

敦煌变文“勃笼宛转”有不少解释,却未尽其意。文章认为将“勃笼”看作“蓬”的分音词是合适的,在“勃笼宛转”中当分析为名词作状语,像蓬草一样,“勃笼宛转”是为躬着腰向前快走的一种比喻之言,这样解读更符合作品对人物形象的描写与展示。

There remain various interpretations of the sentence bolong wanzhuan(勃笼宛转)in Dunhuang Bianwen(变文),but none of them can thoroughly explain its meaning.This article argues that it is appropriate to consider bolong(勃笼)as a sound-divided word of peng(蓬).The noun bolong(勃笼),which means erigeron acer,is a noun as adverbial in the sentence.Therefore,bolong wanzhuan(勃笼宛转)is a metaphor for bowing and walking forward quickly.The interpretation above is more in line with the description and presentation of the literature work characters.
