A Study on Candidates in the Jiangnan Provincial Examination in the Charge of Zhu Yizun

朱彝尊于康熙二十年(1681)出任江南乡试副主考。将此科乡试作为科举史中的一个片段进行个案考察,并以所取举人之生平、科名、官职、政声、艺文诸方面,勾勒其群体面貌,分析与研讨了举人考中进士之比例、落榜待选等问题。朱彝尊与这些举子的交往行迹,对探究清初的人文生态也有助益。

Zhu Yizun took the post of deputy examiner of Jiangnan Provincial Examination in 1681.Choosing this examination,an episode in the history of the imperial examination,as a case,we,by investigating life,ranking in the provincial examination,official position,reputation of administration,writings and other aspects of the successful candidates,draw a panorama of this group,and analyze and discuss issues such as the proportion of the successful ones among all the candidates and failures’waiting for recommendation.In addition,Zhu Yizun s association with these candidates is also helpful in exploring the cultural environment in the early Qing dynasty.
