山桐子(Idesia polycarpa Maxim.)为大风子科山桐子属落叶乔木,自然生长于海拔400m-1500m的华东、西南和长江流域地区丘陵山地。树皮淡灰色,花期5-6月,圆锥花序,花序长达15cm,果成熟期10-11月,红色,肉质浆果,形态优美,种子含油率≥20%,可提炼加工优质的保健食用油、生物柴油或润滑油等,可广泛应用于生活生产和工业行业,油脂经深加工还可用于制药业,有降低血脂、降低血压等功效,被誉为“美丽的树上油库”,是优良的景观、用材和能源油料树种。具有重要的经济价值,开发潜力巨大。

Yamanton seeds(Idesia polycarpa Maxim.)It is a deciduous tree in the family Pinaceae,which naturally grows in the hilly mountains of East China,southwest and Yangtze River basin at an altitude of 400m-1500m.Bark pale gray,MayJune,conical,inflorescence 15 cm,fruit maturity in October to November,red,meat berries,beautiful form,seed oil content≥20%,can be refined high quality health cooking oil,biodiesel or oil,can be widely used in life production and industrial indus⁃try,oil processing,reduce blood fat,reduce blood pressure,known as the"beautiful tree oil depot",is a good landscape,materi⁃als and energy oil species.It has important economic value and has great development potential.
