通过搜集古医籍及现代医家临床经验,总结出虎杖具有以下特点:临床汤剂用量范围为4.5~40 g,常用剂量为10~15 g,散剂常用量为0.15~2.484 g。根据疾病、证型、症状寻求最佳用量,如清热解毒治疗消化系统疾病(如乙型肝炎、肝炎黄疸)、内分泌疾病(如2型糖尿病合并脂肪肝、高胰岛素血症,高胆红素血症、痛风)、呼吸系统疾病(如新冠肺炎)、皮肤病(如银屑病),汤剂为10~30 g,散剂为0.814~2.484 g;活血化瘀治疗内分泌病(如2型糖尿病合并脂肪肝并眼底黄斑区缺血)、呼吸系统疾病(如肺癌、肺纤维化)、肛肠疾病(如嵌顿痔),汤剂为10~40 g,散剂为0.15~1.45 g;清热利湿治疗消化系统疾病(如胆石症、急慢性胆囊炎)、代谢病(如2型糖尿病、肥胖)、特发性肾病,汤剂为10~40 g;苦寒泄热治疗肥胖、便秘、冠心病、胃痛、围绝经期综合征,汤剂为4.5~20 g。根据疾病、证型及症状,配伍相应中药,如清热解毒常配伍土茯苓、茵陈等;活血化瘀常配伍鬼箭羽、姜黄、枳壳等;清热利湿常配伍葛根、黄芩等;苦寒泄热常配伍泽泻、瓜蒌等。

By collecting the clinical experience of ancient medical books and of modern physicians,it is concluded that giant knotweed rhizome has the following characteristics:Its clinical dosage range in decoction is 4.5-40 g,and its usual dosage is 10-15 g,while the usual dosage in powder is 0.15-2.484 g.Its best dosage should be decided according to different diseases,syndrome types or symptoms.For example,when used for clearing heat and removing toxicity in the treatment of digestive system diseases (hepatitis B,icteric hepatitis),endocrine diseases (such as type 2 diabetes complicated with fatty liver,hyperinsulinemia,hyperbilirubinemia,gout),respiratory diseases (novel coronavirus pneumonia),skin diseases (such as psoriasis),its dosage range in decoction is 10-30 g,while in powder 0.814-2.484 g.For activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis in the treatment of endocrine diseases (such as type 2 diabetes complicated with fatty liver and macula ischemia in fundus),respiratory diseases (such as lung cancer,pulmonary fibrosis),anorectal diseases (such as incarcerated hemorrhoids),its dosage range in decoction is 10-40 g,while in powder 0.15-1.45 g.For clearing heat and promoting diuresis to treat digestive system diseases (cholelithiasis,acute and chronic cholecystitis),metabolic diseases (such as type 2 diabetes,obesity) and idiopathic nephropathy,its dosage range in decoction is 10-40 g.For expelling heat with bitter-flavoured and cold-natured drugs in the treatment of obesity,constipation,coronary heart disease,stomachache,perimenopausal syndrome,its dosage range in decoction is 4.5-20 g.According to varying diseases,syndrome types or symptoms,giant knotweed rhizome is compatible with corresponding Chinese medicines.For instance,for clearing heat and removing toxicity,it is often combined with glabrous greenbrier rhizome,virgate wormwood herb,etc.For activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis,its is often combined with winged euonymus twig,turmeric,orange fruit,etc.For clearing heat and promoting diuresis,it is often combined with kudzuvine root,baical skullcap root,etc.For expelling heat with bitter-flavoured and cold-natured drugs,it is often combined with oriental waterplantain rhizome,snakegourd fruit and so on.
