“From Void to Repletion”--The Writing of Time in Mu Dan’s Poems

伯格森指出,时间有两种不同的存在状态:即物理时间与纯粹的时间。穆旦诗歌中显然存在着这两种不同的时间书写。在物理时间层面,即当时间作为一个可计量、可划分的物质存在时。时间,作为诗歌中的一个意象,一种角色,是穆旦诗歌中民族战争和个人生活的旁观者、是给予人生机与希望的解救者、也是纯真和野性的摧毁者。然而,在纯粹时间层面,时间作为一种纯粹的恒常存在,在诗人整个人生历程中处于一种恒常不变的状态,反映出诗人协调民族性与现代性、协调个人与社会的关系、协调自身的在场与不在场的恒常努力。

Bergson points out that there are two different states of time,the physical time and the pure time.Mu Dan’s poems narrate these two types of time.In the aspect of physical time,time is measurable and partitionable.As an image,and a role,time is a spectator of national war and individual life,a rescuer that gives people vitality and hope,and a destroyer of pureness and brutehood.However,as a pure constant existence,the time in Mu Dan’s poems and his whole life is invariable.It shows the writer’s effort to balance the relation between the national character and modernity,individual and society,and the presence and absence.
