On Honesty and Its Cultivation

在当今社会中,诚实德性的缺失或是意识的淡化屡见不鲜。人们作出合于诚实德性的行为,但内在的诚实德性难以界定,从而导致了在社会交往实践中的两难境况。要走出困境,就需要通过教化者的教导和行为的规训,逐步形成内心的诚实到行为的诚实的知行统一。这种诚实德性的养成是自觉自愿的,所以,要完善个人诚实德性的养成、提升个人素质、拂去内在虚伪、进一步获得良好生活,从而实现人自由而全面的发展。

In modern society,the lack of honesty or the consciousness is not uncommon.People act in accordance with honesty,but it is difficult to define the intrinsic honesty.Thus,it leads to the dilemma in social practice.If we want to get out of the predicament,we need to gradually form the unity of honesty in heart and honesty in behavior through education and the disciplines of behavior.This honesty virtue's cultivation is voluntary.Therefore,it is of great significance to cultivate personal integrity,improve personal quality,get rid of internal hypocrisy,and live a better life,so as to achieve free and comprehensive development of human beings.
