Research on Nouns of Farm Tools in Hongan Dialect in Hubei

湖北红安方言属于北方方言区江淮官话黄孝片,总体上与普通话较为接近。红安作为农业大县,其方言中包含大量有关农事、农具、农作物、农谚等方面的农业词汇,其中典型的农具类名物词有46个,可分为耕作类、锄头类、收割类、脱粒类、粮食加工类、捆扎装载类、其他等七小类。从这些农具类名物词不仅可以窥见汉语词汇所保留的古义、古语词,还可以窥见红安传统农业文明以及现代农业生产的进步。

Hongan dialect in Hubei belongs to Huangxiao cluster in Jianghuai mandarin in the area of northern dialect,and it is generally close to mandarin.Hongan is a large agricultural county and its dialect contains many agricultural nouns of farm business,farm tools,crops,farming proverb,etc.Among them,nouns of farm tools are noteworthy.Investigation has indicated that there are 46 typical nouns of farm tools in Hongan dialect,and these nouns can be classified into seven categories:cultivation,hoe,reaping,threshing,grain processing,binding and loading and others.From these nouns of farm tools it can be seen that ancient meanings and ancient words were retained in Chinese vocabulary,and also the traditional agricultural civilization and the progress of modern agricultural production in Hongan can be found.
