The essence of commodity bar code is coding standardization. It plays the role of "product identity card",bringing huge changes to retailing. It also positively impacts on logistics, medical care and many other industries. This paper compiles the commodity bar code data in Hubei province in recent years, shows the current situation and trend of the commodity bar code development in Hubei based on the membership, registration, renewal, cancellation, regional distribution, industry distribution and other aspects. It also analyzes the trend of commodity bar code development and puts forward the thoughts on the development of commodity bar code to promote the business development in Hubei.
