Xuantang’s Atmosphere:An Anthology of the Studies on Jao Tsung-I is a collection of the latest achievements of scholars in regard to Jao Tsung-I’s studies on poetry, arts, essays and so on.In particular,it puts forward a new concept and proposition, namely“Xuantang’s atmosphere”,which has been unanimously praised and commended by the academic circles. As the reseach object,Jao’s studies have taken on its own“atmosphere”because of its all-encompassing size. The“size”of Jao’s studies is not only reflected in its breadth or scale, but also in its creation or innovation and influence. As the scholars were inextricably linked with Jao because of their fine geographical and aca⁃demic ties,or even personal ties with Jao,the authors of the book have been able to get close to the“atmosphere”for a long time.Starting with the most innovative theories of poetry, literature and art history, the scholars have made in-depth research on Jao’s academic spirit, literary and artistic achievements, family pedigree and academic contributions,so as to reveal the important value and sig⁃nificance of Jao in the history of literature, art and scholarship.Since the authors of this book have profound knowledge and research skills,as well as their own“atmosphere”,the book can offer in⁃sights into the“atmosphere”of Jao’s studies and create new“atmosphere”for the studies on Jao.
