Zhang Fuqing’s Collation and Annotation of the Banter Poems in the Northern Song Dynasty and Collation and Annotation of the Banter Poems in the Southern Song Dynasty offer a col⁃lection of 4,270 banter poems,among which a number of poems have received little attention from the academic community.These poems contribute to a comprehensive and in-depth understanding and in⁃sight of the poetry of the Song Dynasty.The banter poems collected in these two books are compre⁃hensive in number with careful annotations.The books also offer a new view on the naming of“ban⁃ter poems”by examining their sources.In addition,they provide clear analysis and supplement the deficiencies of the existing annotations,thus allowing readers to have a clear understanding of the val⁃ue of the existence of banter poems in the Song Dynasty.
