The Power of Spirit:Comment on the Large-scale Original Wuxi Opera Candle Light Ahead

大型原创锡剧《烛光在前》以张太雷同志的真实故事为创作原型,以"为人民谋永远幸福"的忠贞信仰为引领,讲述张太雷的夫人陆静华和儿女们坚强不屈地追随他的足迹走上革命道路的故事。创演团队以陆静华送夫、送女、送子先后走上革命道路的三次送别为"主线",以张太雷为代表的共产党人对爱国主义精神"烛光"的追随和追溯为"辅线",构建主戏。作品将个体的坚强品质与革命群体的顽强斗争精神、个体家庭生活的艰苦与中国革命的艰难、陆静华个人形象与中国伟大女性群体画像一一契合,通过"双线"并行的叙述方式和递进式表现手法将"烛光"精神的深刻内涵升华,彰显共产党人的精神力量。

The large-scale original Wuxi opera "Candle Light Ahead " is based on the true story of Comrade Zhang Tailei and guided by the faithful belief of "seeketernal happiness for the people". It tells the story of Zhang Tailei’s wife, Lu Jinghua, and his children who unyieldingly followed his footsteps and embarked on the revolution. The team who created and performed the story used three farewells of Lu Jinghua-sending off her husband, daughters, and children, one after another, to the revolutionary road as the "main line". They took the tracing of the patriotism spirit, which is represented by Zhang Tailei as the "secondary line". The two lines altogether formed the main theme of the show. This work combines the individual fortitude with the struggle spirit of the revolutionary group, the hardship of family life and the difficulties of Chinese revolution, and the personal image of Lu Jinghua with the great Chinese female group. It also sublimates the profound connotation of the "candlelight" spirit through the "two lines" parallel narrative and progressive expression methods, and demonstrates the power of the Communist spirit.
