Preservation of History,Conveyance of Tao and Enlightenment of People:Contents and Composition of Ju Tan Lu and Its Views of Literature and History

康骈《剧谈录》载唐宣宗至唐昭宗年间名宦轶事、典故纪闻、僧道方士、灾异鬼怪之事,内容繁杂丰富,尽管夹杂怪力乱神之奇谈,但其内容反映唐代社会生活的方方面面。尤其是作者通过人物和事件评述,表达其关注政治兴废、惩恶扬善、重视民生的价值取向。反映出康骈“文以存史”注重史料保存,“文以载道”提倡匡世立学、经世致用,“文以化人”寄托以史为鉴、劝世警人的文史观念,总结康骈的文史观对其个人思想和唐末士人文史观念与处世哲学的探索具有积极意义。

Ju Tan Lu written by Kang Pian recorded anecdotes,famous stories,monks and Taoists,alchemists,ghosts,calamity and so on during the periods of Tang Xuanzong and Tang Zhaozong,covering all aspects of societies in the Tang Dynasty.Kang Pian commented on certain people or events to express his attitudes toward politics and social values such as praising the right and punishing the wrong and caring about people’s life.Kang Pian maintained that literature should serve three purposes:preservation of history,conveyance of Tao and enlightenment of people.The study of Kang Pian’s views of literature and history is helpful to understand his thoughts and other scholars’philosophies and views of literature and history in the late Tang Dynasty.
