摘要
《水泥花园》是英国当代作家伊恩·麦克尤恩的首部长篇小说。“水泥花园”作为对主人公家宅的称谓,直接构成人物生存境遇的空间隐喻,其中“花园”见出“异托邦”的想象与建构,“水泥”则指向处境的固化与人情的冷漠,家宅则具有保护与枷锁的双重特性。这一空间内部有着复杂的结构,整栋房屋与每一个房间及更小的空间物件之间形成多重“套盒空间”关系,又通过“门”“窗”之类形成空间过渡,由此投射出更复杂的人际关系。地下空间作为承载母体与家宅根系的核心存在,它竭力封闭的“罪恶”与“死亡”最终还是透过裂缝不断向外渗透,预示出现代化进程中整个人类生命空间所面临的伦理及存在论危机。
The Cement Garden is British contemporary writer Ian McEwen's first novel.As the title of the character's house,The Cement Garden directly constitutes the spatial metaphor of the living situation.The word“Garden”shows the imagination and construction of Utopia.The word“Cement”refers to the solidification of situation and indifference of human feelings,while the house has the dual characteristics of protection and shackles.This space has a complex structure,the whole building forms a multiple box space relationship with each room and smaller space objects,and forms a space transition through the“doors”and“windows”,thus projecting more complex interpersonal relationships.The underground space is the core existence that carries the matrix and homestead roots.The sin and death that it strives to close eventually penetrate outward through the cracks,indicating the ethical and existential crisis facing the whole human life space in the process of modernization.
