From Tradition to Modernity:The Construction of a New Relationship Between Kindness and Filial Piety in China

我国传统道德文化中“慈”与“孝”关系的演变,反映了家庭伦理观念的演进轨迹,同时折射出了社会政治变迁。我国慈孝观经历了“慈孝并举”、以“孝”为先、“重孝轻慈”的演变过程,其原因是“慈”在良好亲子关系中的地位和作用被人为削减和抽离。厘清“慈”与“孝”的本质内涵,重新构建新型的以“慈”生“孝”、以“孝”促“慈”伦理规范,对于解决我国当前孝道伦理滑坡的困境有重要意义。

The evolution of the relationship between“kindness”and“filial piety”in China’s traditional moral culture reflects the evolution track of family ethics and social and political changes.The concept of kindness and filial piety in China has experienced the evolution process of“simultaneous development of kindness and filial piety”,putting“filial piety”first and“emphasizing filial piety and neglecting kindness”.The reason is that the status and role of“kindness”in good parent-child relationship have been artificially reduced and separated.It is of great significance to clarify the essential connotation of“kindness”and“filial piety”,reconstruct a new ethical code of“kindness”to produce“filial piety”and“filial piety”to promote“kindness”in order to solve the dilemma of the current decline of filial piety ethics in China.
