In this paper, the application of communication technology in electric energy measurement automation and the promotion measures are taken as the research topic. First of all, the application status of communication technology in current electric power industry is discussed. Then, the types of communication technology applied in electric energy measurement automation are discussed in categories, and the specific application is analyzed. Taking electric energy measurement information collection business as an example, the application mode of communication technology is discussed in detail.Finally, the improvement measures of communication technology application in electric energy measurement automation are expounded, hoping to deepen the integration of electric power industry and communication technology and improve the power supply service quality of electric power industry.
