Alice Walker truly reproduces the various life situations of black women under the background of patriarchy in her masterpiece Purple.Under the oppression of men, women represented by Celie gradually lost their subject consciousness and eventually became slaves of the family and accomplices of patriarchy. However, under the influence of the women around them, their subject consciousness began to awaken and began the journey of resisting male oppression and seeking self. They not only relied on their own talents to obtain financial independence, but also won the respect of men,and further realized their self-worth in the harmonious coexistence with men. This not only shows Walker′s"feminism"thought, but also expresses her beautiful expectation of men and women from confrontation to understanding,so as to realize the harmonious survival of all mankind.
