Surgeons'medical practice is very much in line with the Patients,Interventions,Comparisons,and Outcomes(PICO)principle of clinical research,and thus suitable for conducting clinical studies.Investigators should be good at translating clinical problems into scientific questions and communicate with statisticians at early stage for establishing the purpose and nature of the research,eventually setting up appropriate clinical projects based on their capabilities.Upon initiating the project,investigators should keep detecting and solving potential problems.The basic data has to be completely collected,and the follow-up work should be carefully proceeded to reduce loss of survival data.The investigators'familiarity with project pipeline and desire to share research results is a fundamental part of improving research quality and increasing investigators*research enthusiasm.
