Professor Lyu Jiusheng’s Experience in Differentiating and Treating Subclinical Hypothyroidism with Tongue Diagnosis

吕久省授根据多年经验总结出亚临床甲状腺功能减退症(简称亚临床甲减)的舌诊特点,并根据舌诊特点分为肝郁脾虚证,患者舌质暗淡,苔薄少,用逍遥散加减治疗;脾虚痰湿证,患者舌质淡,苔白腻,可伴有齿痕,用逍遥散合二陈汤加减治疗。舌诊可作为诊疗亚临床甲减的一种思路,但不可绝对化、盲目化,要四诊合参,方可知犯何逆,随证治之。

Professor Lyu Jiusheng summarized the characteristics of tongue diagnosis of subclinical hypothyroidism based on years of experience,according to the characteristics of tongue diagnosis,when the patients’tongue was dull and tongue coating thin,the patients could be divided into liver depression and spleen deficiency pattern and treated by modified Xiaoyao powder;when the patients’tongue was light,tongue coating white and greasy,accompanied by tooth marks,the patients could be divided into spleen deficiency and phlegm damp pattern and treated by modified Xiaoyao powder and Erchen decoction;tongue diagnosis could be used as an idea of diagnosing and treating subclinical hypothyroidism,but it cannot be absolute or blind,four diagnostic methods should be combined so that we can know what’s the problem and treat it according to the patterns.
