Create a“Meta Language”of Contemporary Chinese Furniture Design

当代中国家具设计既要走出一条有意义的独特创新之路,又不能受到某些具体“风格代码”的过多束缚而被桎梏在小众市场中而失去包容性和普适性。平衡这一矛盾需要从源头出发,为此,提出了中国家具设计的“元语言”概念,并从人性关怀、可持续发展、东方文化和东方哲学这三个方面对元语言进行了诠释,以此来奠定当代中国家具设计的隐性基因及其底层逻辑。

Contemporary Chinese furniture design must not only take a meaningful and unique path of innovation,but also cannot be too restricted by certain specific"style codes"and be shackled in a niche market,thus losing its inclusiveness and universality.Balancing this contradiction needs to start from the source.For this reason,this article introduces the concept of"meta language"and puts forward the three key words of humanity care,sustainable development,oriental culture and oriental philosophy,so as to lay the foundation for contemporary Chinese furniture design.The recessive gene and its underlying logic.
