网络圈子影响人们的生活满意度吗?——基于一项全国性调查数据的分析

Would Network Circles Affect People’s Life Satisfaction? An Analysis Based on A National Survey

在互联网技术及其时间逻辑的影响下,社会交往的便捷性得到了极大提高,与此同时,社会关系的流动性也在增强,保持连接成为当前人们工作和生活的重要内容。本文利用一项全国性调查数据,通过考察网络圈子参与对人们生活满意度的影响,来讨论保持连接这一集体性的媒介习惯所具有的意涵。本文发现,网络圈子不仅影响人们的生活满意度,而且其影响在不同人群之间有所差异,并突出地表现在由工作单位的"体制"属性分隔的群体之间。尽管本研究囿于数据限制,未能对此提供解释,但认为有必要对这一结果保持敏感。本文进一步认为,在数字化时代,关注人们的日常媒介习惯具有不同于以往的意义。媒介习惯是高度语境化的,即便是一种普通的媒介习惯,在不同的关系语境和场域中,也会具有多样的肌理和意义;媒介习惯具有规范化和制度化的功能;媒介习惯之于特定群体的意义,需要放在他们的社会位置和生活境况中予以考察。

Under the influence of Internet technology and its temporal logic, the convenience of social interaction and mobility of social relations have been greatly improved. Maintaining connections has become an important part of people’s work and life. According to the data from a national survey, this paper explored the implications of the collective media habit of maintaining connections, by investigating the influence of network circle participation on individual life satisfaction. The findings surprisingly showed that network circles had effects on people’s life satisfaction, moreover, their influences varied among groups and was prominently manifested in groups separated by the “institution” attribute of their work units. Although this study hasn’t yet been able to provide an explanation due to the data limitation, it is necessary to be sensitive to this result. This paper further believed that paying attention to people’s daily media habits has a different meaning from the past in the digital age. Media habits were highly contextualized, even a seemingly ordinary media habit will have diverse textures and meanings in different relational contexts and fields;media habits had the functions of standardization and institutionalization;the meanings of media habits of specific groups needed to be examined in their social positions and living conditions.
