“楚子棄疾簠”略論

Study on Chu Zi Qiji Fu(楚子棄疾簠)

楚系青銅器有一件楚子棄疾簠,器之歸屬,或認爲楚平王踐祚前所鑄器,或認爲楚國鬭氏成員鬭棄疾器。比較目前所見楚王子、王孫器,"楚子棄疾簠"銅銘中無"王子"二字,顯非楚王子器;又楚王孫器銅銘中若器主名前有顯示其身份信息(族屬、國屬等)的字眼,"王孫"二字有時可省略,楚子棄疾簠器主的稱謂方式恰與之吻合,遂推定"楚子棄疾"或稱"楚王孫棄疾",與見於《左傳》魯襄公二十二年(前551)的"王孫棄疾"係一人。

Some people think that the Fu(簠)owned by Chu Zi Qiji(楚子棄疾)was made by the king of ChuPing(楚平王),others believe that it was made by Dou Qiji(鬭棄疾),one member of the Dou(鬭)family.Summing up the bronzes of Chu’s princes and their descendants seen so far,the inscription of the Fu(簠)owned by Chu Zi Qiji(楚子棄疾)does not contain the word Wangzi(王子),which does not conform to the appellation format of the instrument owner of the Chu Prince,so the Fu(簠)is obviously not the prince’s bronze.In addition,among the bronzes owned by descendants of Chu’s princes,if there is a word showing their identity information(clan,country,etc.)in front of their names,the word Wangsun(王孫)can sometimes be omitted.Since the appellation of the Fu(簠)is just consistent with that convention,it is plausible to presume that Chu Zi Qiji(楚子棄疾)and Wangsun Qiji(王孫棄疾)seen in Zuo Zhuan(左傳)were one and the same.
