语用等值视角下的粤菜菜名翻译

ON THE TRANSLATION OF CANTONESE CUISINE NAMES FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF PRAGMATIC EQUIVALENCE

摘要 粤菜菜名作为一种沟通桥梁,它通过文字向顾客传递广东饮食习惯和文化信息,在跨文化交际中发挥重要作用。因此,正确的粤菜英文菜名能够进一步弘扬广东独具魅力的饮食文化,促进粤文化的对外交流。本文分析广东饮食文化以及粤菜菜名的特点,并基于语用等值视角,探讨粤菜菜名的翻译原则和翻译方法,并以粤菜中部分具有代表性的广式茶点为例,提出直译法、直译加注释法、意译法等粤菜菜名翻译方法。 Cantonese cuisine as a bridge of communication,it conveys Guangdong’s eating habits and cultural information to customers through words,and plays a significant role in cross-cultural communication.Therefore,the correct English cuisine name of Cantonese cuisine can further promote Guangdong’s unique charm of the food culture,and facilitate the external exchange of Cantonese culture.Through the method of literature research,this paper analyzes the differences between Chinese and Western cultures,and summarizes the characteristics of Cantonese cuisine names.From the perspective of pragmatic equivalence,this paper discusses the translation principles and translation methods of Cantonese cuisine names.Taking some representative broad refreshments in Cantonese cuisine as an example,this paper puts forward the translation methods such as literal translation method,literal translation plus annotation method and free translation method,hoping to contribute to the dissemination and development of Guangdong culture.
