摘要
运用最新的西夏语文学成果重新考察西夏谚语集《新集锦合辞》,发现第167、241条旧译错误。原句分别反映了西夏人对身处顺逆境的态度和对智勇者的崇尚,“吞纓”一词是对比连词而非转折连词,原文应当译为“一时和合,莫贪乐,不行仁德损中损;福缘未到,莫嫌苦,常持净道益中益”、“军急,除闹男莫能拒;语急,除智人莫能对”。
A new study on The New Collection of Outstanding Dual Proverbs is made by using the latest achievements of Xixia literature.This paper corrects the mistakes in two old translations of articles 167 and 241 and gives new translations.These two Xixia proverbs respectively reflect the attitude of Xixia people towards good times and bad times and their admiration for the brave and wise.Article 167 says that when a man is in prosperity,he should not indulge in pleasure,or he will fall and when a person is in adversity,don’t be afraid of difficulties and hardships,then he will be stronger and stronger.Article 241 says that only the brave can cope with a military emergency,not the timid and only a wise man can answer a sudden question,not a fool.
