As compared with traditional Fabry-Pérot antenna,hemispherical Fabry-Pérot antenna helps to improve the working bandwidth.The working principle of hemispherical Fabry-Pérot antenna is briefly introduced.Based on the open resonator cavity theory,the difference between hemispherical Fabry-Pérot antenna and planar Fabry-Pérot antenna is discussed,and the principle of bandwidth expansion is analyzed in detail.Some methods for further improvement of hemispherical Fabry-Pérot antenna are introduced.The design and fabricating method of this antenna at different frequencies are well discussed.Through summarizing the current applications of hemispherical Fabry-Pérot antenna,its potential applications and research fields are proposed.
