Study on the Poems About Agriculture by Chen Jin

陈仅在陕西为官期间创作了三十多首涉及当地农业状况和农民生活的诗歌。这些作品描绘了陈仅在察看农民耕作情形时所见的农村风光,表现出他对农业生产的重视;反映了陕西的农业生产条件和生产民俗,对贫苦农民寄予深切同情;记录了陈仅的助农举措,并且运用诗歌宣传他的备荒之策,取得了良好的效果;也体现出陈仅对气候变化和作物收成的密切关注。此类诗歌蕴含丰富的历史和地域文化信息,有助于我们了解清末陕西农业发展状况和陈仅对陕西农业的贡献。

Chen Jin created more than thirty poems about local agricultural conditions and famers’life while serving as an official in Shaanxi province.The poems depicted the rural scenery about famers’cultivation that Chen Jin observed,showing his attention to the agricultural production.The poems reflected the agricultural production conditions and production folk customs as well in Shaanxi,expressing his deep sympathy for poor peasants.Meanwhile Chen Jin’s poems recorded his measures to help famers.He propagandized his policy of preparing for famine using poems,which achieved good results.Chen Jin’s poems also showed his close attention to climate change and crop harvest.The kind of poems contained rich historical and regional cultural information,which helps us to understand the agricultural situation of Shaanxi in the late Qing Dynasty and Chen Jin’s contribution to the agriculture of Shaanxi.
