The numeral divination in bamboos slips of the Warring States Period is dual divination consisting of two sets of juxtaposed divinatory symbols, which has been frequently seen in inscriptions on oracle bones, bronzes and pottery vessels of Shang and Zhou dynasties. In this article, the author refers to the dual divination in Shi Fa,written on bamboo slips of the Warring States Period currently preserved in Tsinghua University, points out that the dual divination in Chu bamboo slips of Warring States Period had its origin in the dual divination of Shang and Zhou dynasties, and argues that the particular dual divination in Chu bamboo slips was neither the original set of divinatory symbols nor the derived set of divinatory symbols in The Book of Changes, but belonged to the long-lost divination system of Lian Shan.
