[Purpose/significance]Historic conservation remains are an integral part of ancient books,are the objects of the new ancient book conservation cycle.The study of them can both enrich conservation technologies and enhance the conservation quality of ancient books.[Method/process]This paper studied the forms and treatment measures of historical conservation remains of ancient books by induction and case method.[Result/conclusion]The forms of historic conservation of ancient books include materials,methods and marks.The measures of historical conservation remains,such as retaining,conservation and clearance,should be taken according to the specific situation.The enlightenments of the historical conservation remains of ancient books to the conservation of Chinese ancient books are actively researching and developing the treating technology of historic conservation remains of ancient book,giving prior choice to the physical conservation technology of ancient books,comprehensively promoting the excellent conservation technology and systematically constructing conservation archives of ancient book.
