In 2019,Yangzhou Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology excavated the ancient tombs of Tang-song period at Huqiao Block,Sanxing Village, northeast of Yangzhou city,of which M399,dated to late Northern Song Dynasty, was a well-preserved single coffin tomb with vertical pit.The occupant of the tomb was a young woman. In her tomb, several fine porcelains, lacquer wares, and metal wares used as make-up cases were found, which reflected the fashion custom in Song Dynasty. The porcelains buried in the tomb included both the products of Ding Kiln in the north and those of Jing-dezhen Kiln in the south, which fully proved the prosperity brought by economic and cultural exchanges in Yangzhou region, the intersection of the north and the south in Song Dynasty.
