Exploration of Domestic Pottery Making in Athens in Homeric Times

古希腊留给我们丰富的陶器艺术。荷马时代以家庭制陶业为主,在雅典产生了独具特色的几何陶。文章以家庭制陶业为研究对象,通过历史资料法、对比分析法、逻辑分析法探索出雅典家庭制陶业的陶器风格。即荷马时期雅典陶器是在传承创新中发展且其陶器装饰风格具有强烈的抽象意味,这都源于荷马时期古希腊城邦制度下自给自足的家庭生活以及多民族的交融,最终形成独具特色的雅典几何风格陶器。

Ancient Greece left us a rich legacy of pottery art, and in the Homeric period featured with domestic pottery, Athens produced unique geometric potteries. This paper explores the pottery style of the Athenian domestic pottery industry through historical data, comparative analysis and logical analysis. It has been found that potteries at that period made innovations based on absorbing essence from traditional ones and had a strong sense of abstraction. This characteristic of distinctive Athenian geometric style pottery is the result of self-sufficient family life style under the Homeric city-state system and the intermingling of multiple ethnic groups.
