High-tech Zones Upgrading and Manufacturing Corporate Innovation

使用全国创新调查企业数据库数据,利用多时点双重差分模型,研究省级高新区升级对制造业企业创新的影响。研究结果显示:第一,省级高新区升级后,制造业企业私人研发投入水平平均增加约8224元,对东部地区和本土制造业企业创新的促进效应尤为突出;第二,省级高新区升级引发的企业研发投入水平提高是促进制造业企业创新的重要原因;第三,对于高研发强度和创新差距较小的制造业企业,省级高新区升级对企业创新的促进效应更加突出。

Based on the data of National Innovation Survey Enterprise Database,this paper uses the multi-time difference-in-differences model to study the impact of provincial high-tech zones upgrading on manufacturing corporate innovation.The main findings are as follows.Firstly,since the provincial high-tech zones upgrading,the private R&D investment of manufacturing enterprises has increased by roughly 8224 yuan on average,especially for the eastern regions and local manufacturing enterprises of China.Secondly,the increase of R&D investment caused by the provincial high-tech zones upgrading is an important factor to promote the innovation output of manufacturing enterprises.Thirdly,for manufacturing enterprises with high R&D intensity and small innovation gap,the promotion effect of provincial high-tech zone upgrading on manufacturing corporate innovation is more prominent.
