This paper analyzes the feminist criticism in Iris Murdoch study,reveals the complex relations between the female writer Murdoch and feminist movements,and attempts to provide reference for the future Murdoch study.Murdoch’s refusal and attack upon feminist movements and theories have put her works into the blind spot of feminist critics,leaving feminist images and themes within her works to be uncovered.Since the 21st century,feminist criticisms have gradually emerged into the Murdochian study due to the following changes:the publication of a series of new material makes contribution to the analysis of feminist themes within and outside Murdoch’s works.The shift of critical paradigms in Murdochian study paves the way for the uncovering of feminist elements in her works.And the gradual break-through of feminist theories beyond the constraint of gender,brings new directions for the interpretation of gender-power in her novels.Murdoch’s subjective attitude towards theories,theoretical expansion of feminism,publication of new material and shift of critical paradigms all affect the feminist critical trend towards Murdoch and her works.
