The banded fruit weevil Phlyctinus callosus is a kind of pest that causes serious damage to fruits and ornamental plants.It is native to South Africa,and has spread to New Zealand and Australia.But there is no distribution record in China.Its strong adaptability,broad host range,and high concealment of fruit make it a potential invasive pest.The taxonomic status,host range,distribution,morphological characteristics,damage characteristics,biological characteristics,management measures are presented in this paper to provide references for port quarantine inspection,prevention and control.
