录像有建筑学和社会学上的意义,反映、调解且作用于公共/私人空间的社会秩序和个体的心理感知。作为电视的录像,在其普及发展之初,在私人住宅的环境被观看,构成美国式家庭的镜像;而位于城市公共空间的住宅之外录像放映的发展,则触及公私领域、社会阶层等诸多问题。格雷厄姆的录像(装置)作品常通过镜子、摄像机、显示器构成的录像反馈系统,得以让参与者获得或即时或延迟的反馈,在多重映射、循环和相互作用的关系中,探究录像作为社会心理模型是如何影响观者的心理和行为,尤其是对自我和时间的意识和感知。
Video has the architectural and social significance, which reflects, mediates and functions in the social order of public/private space and the psychological sense of individuals. Video as television, at the time it became widespread, was watched in the domestic area, constituting a mirror image of the American family;while the development of video projection outside the home, located in the urban public space, concerns many issues such as the public and private spheres and social classes. Graham’s video(installation) allow participants to gain immediate feedback, either instantaneously or delayed, through a video feedback system composed of mirrors, cameras, and monitors. Among the multiple reflections, looping and interactions, they explore how video as a psychosocial model affects the viewer’s inner states and behaviors, especially the consciousness and perception of self and time.
