Research progress and prospect of functional capsule endoscopy

功能性胶囊(functional capsule endoscopy,FCE)是由无线胶囊内镜(wireless capsule endoscopy,WCE)迅速发展而派生出的具有视频功能之外其他功能的无线胶囊系统。由于WCE的尺寸优势和光电技术的进一步发展,人们将更多功能整合在了WCE上。FCE不仅在诊断方面帮助WCE实现了与传统内镜下相似的活检、超声探测等诊断功能,甚至能够进行止血、减肥、灭菌、促排便、靶向给药等多种治疗,是新时代医工结合的重要产物。文章叙述了FCE近十余年的创新发展及临床现状,并归纳其发展趋势。

Functional capsule endoscopy(FCE)derives from the rapid development of wireless capsule endoscopy(WCE),which is a wireless capsule system with other functions besides video recording.Due to the size advantages of WCE and the further development of optoelectronic technology,people integrate more functions into WCE.FCE not only helps WCE to realize the diagnostic functions such as biopsy and ultrasonic detection similar to traditional endoscopy,but also can carry out a variety of treatments such as hemostasis,weight loss,sterilization,defecation promotion and targeted drug delivery,which is an important product of the combination of nedical science and engineering in the new era.This review describes the innovative development and clinical exploration status of FCE in recent decade,and summarizes its development trend.
