Transmitted through ceremonies marking birth,wedding,funeral and other events,the ancient Yi ballads have been loved and participated in by the Yi people as enjoyable recreation activities.In addition to being a form of irreplaceable spiritual consumption for centuries,they have the functions to impart knowledge and teach moral lessons. They are a unique form of intangible cultural heritage.
