As Hubble’s successor,it will look deeper into the past than ever before The James Webb Space Telescope(JWST),the world’s largest and most powerful space science observatory,lifted off aboard an Ariane 5 rocket from Kourou,French Guiana at 9:20 a.m.local time on December 25,2021.The$10-billion mission will enable scientists to look at the oldest stars and galaxies to better understand cosmic history and search for evidence of life outside our solar system,among other goals.
