David Valentine:When Glamis Castle Joins Hands with Penglai Pavilion

“在我的故乡,大家都叫我‘中国先生’。”69岁的英国人大卫·瓦伦丁(David Valentine)在接受山东媒体采访时说道。在过去的20多年里,这位英国人访问中国60多次,其中到访山东近50次。在最近的一次山东省与苏格兰大区友好合作对话会上,大卫·瓦伦丁被评为“山东省荣誉公民”。想要追溯他与中国、与山东的缘分,还要从他童年看到的一张老照片说起。

“In my hometown,they usually call me‘Mr.China’,”said 69-year-old British man David Valentine in an interview with the media of Shandong.Over the past 20 years,this British man has visited China more than 60 times,and has been to Shandong nearly 50 times.At a recent dialogue on friendship and cooperation between Shandong and Scotland,David Valentine was awarded the title of“Honorary Citizen of Shandong”.At the age of six,David saw a photo from China in a textbook,which greatly resonated with him.His compassion and curiosity for that Chinese family has stayed with him,and foreshadowed his China Complex that lasted for many years afterwards.
