Influence of child neglect on children’sense of loneliness:Mediating effect of self-esteem

目的:为探究儿童忽视、自尊以及孤独感三者之间的关系,并分析其内在作用机制,为维护儿童身心健康,降低其孤独感提供理论依据。方法:采用儿童被忽视量表、自尊量表和UCLA孤独量表对275名小学四、五年级学生进行团体施测。结果:儿童忽视与孤独感呈显著正相关(r=0.540,P<0.01),其4个维度安全忽视、交流忽视、躯体忽视、情感忽视均与孤独感呈显著正相关(r=0.297,0.454,0.251,0.536,P<0.01)。儿童忽视与自尊呈显著负相关(r=-0.404,P<0.01),其4个维度均与自尊呈显著负相关(r=-0.230,-0.326,-0.225,-0.389,P<0.01)。自尊与孤独感呈显著负相关(r=-0.447,P<0.01)。自尊在儿童忽视与孤独感之间有中介作用,中介效应占总效应的比例为20%。结论:儿童忽视不仅能直接影响其孤独感,还能通过儿童的自尊进一步影响孤独感。

Objective:To explore the relationship among children’s neglect,self-esteem and loneliness,and to analyze its internal mechanism,so as to provide theoretical basis for maintaining children’s physical and mental health and reducing their loneliness.Methods:A total of 275 students in grade 4 and 5 of primary school were evaluated by the Child Neglect Scale,Self-esteem Scale and UCLA Loneliness Scale.Results:There was a significantly positive correlation between childhood neglect and loneliness(r=0.540,P<0.01),security,communication,ignore the four dimensions,body,emotional ignore all and loneliness were significantly positive correlated(r=0.297,0.454,0.251,0.536;P<0.01).There was a significantly negative correlation between child neglect and self-esteem(r=-0.404,P<0.01),the four dimensions and self-esteem was significantly negative correlated(r=-0.230,-0.326,-0.225,-0.389;P<0.01).There was a significantly negative correlation between self-esteem and loneliness(r=-0.447,P<0.01).Self-esteem had a mediating effect between children’s neglect and loneliness,and the mediating effect accounted for 20% of the total effect.Conclusion:Child neglect can not only affect loneliness directly,but also affect it further through children’s self-esteem.
