Shandong's Three Literary Masters in Jinan

国学大师栾调甫1889年5月日,栾调甫出生于上海租界三马路“格致书室”,由于父亲的薪水无法供养九口之家,他满月便被送回了蓬莱老家。1895年以后,在很长一段时间内,栾调甫一直辗转于上海与蓬莱两地求学,时辍时读,可谓颠沛流离。

Shandong was formerly known as Shan Zuo.The name literally means“mountain's left side”,which refers to the province's location left of the Taihang Mountains.As the name suggests,virtuous and talented person of Shanzuo are from Shandong.There was a wealth of literary talent in Jinan,the capital city of Shandong since ancient times and a national historical and cultural city in the present day.During the 1930s and 1940s,Jinan's academic community saw the rise of the“Three Literary Masters of Shanzuo”amid an increasingly prosperous environment of book trade.Luan Diaofu,a master of studies of Chinese ancient civilization,Lu Dahuang,a pioneer in the study of Pu Songling,and Wang Xiantang,an eminent scholar.Their reputations were founded upon their extraordinary dedication,deep intelligence,and scholastic achievements of the “Qi Lu Study School”,as well as their friendly relationship.
