Comparison of Women’s Consciousness of Survival Between Jane Eyre and Love in a Fallen City

以《简·爱》和《倾城之恋》为主要考察对象,以女性生存意识为考察核心,通过比较文学分析法、平行研究方法系统研究可知:一、作品中主人公各自具有独特的个性。维多利亚时代的简·爱:自尊、叛逆、柔弱又自卑;封建社会的白流苏:柔弱、强悍、颇有心机又果断;二、在爱情婚姻抉择方面,简·爱追求精神上平等自由的婚姻;白流苏追求情感寄托与生活依靠的现实婚姻;三、两部作品中主人公女性生存意识有诸多相似之处:追求思想上的独立、敢于同不公平的命运努力抗争、向往美好的爱情和婚姻。作品都展现了女性对人生的态度和对命运的思考。

This article compares women’s consciousness of survival between Jane Eyre and Love in a Fallen City,and finds that(a)the protagonists of these two books have their unique personalities:Jane Eyre is a self-respecting,disobedient and self-contemptuous woman while Bai Liusu is a strong and clever woman and can make decisions under crucial circumstances;(b)Jane Eyre pursuits free and fair marriage while Bai Liusu looks for a practical marriage that she can rely upon physically and spiritually;and(c)both of them fight for independent thinking,fair treatment,desired love and marriage.Both two books reflect women’s thinking of their life and fate.
