The two core questions of translation involve the basic definition and translation theory, which can provide the foundation and guarantee for translation practice. Since the founding of New China, translation theories have been enriched and perfected. The reform and opening up provides an important opportunity for the development of translation theories. The birth of local translation theories such as variation translation provides new ideas for Chinese translation theories. In the 21 st century, the great historical background of the construction of ecological civilization provides new perspectives and new methods for the emerging interdisciplinary eco-translatology, which is embodied in three aspects: neo-ecosophy of translation, adaptation and selection theory and three-dimensional transformation, and ecological translation terms. The concept of eco-translatology is in line with Chinese traditional ecological culture, and contains abundant Chinese ecological wisdom. Eco-translatology has conducted in-depth research on translation from a new perspective of ecology, establishes a theoretical discourse system of eco-translatology with Chinese characteristics, and provides new ideas for spreading Chinese culture and strengthening international exchanges.
