英汉语标点符号的翻译技巧——以《2021年国务院政府工作报告》英译为例

Techniques for Punctuation Marks Translation Between Chinese and English-A Case Study of Chinese-English Translation The Report on the Work of the Government of PRC 2021

标点符号是翻译过程中不可忽视的一部分,对于译文质量高低起着至关重要的作用。由于世界语言是一个多元化体系,在英汉语互译中,标点符号的转换未必一一对应。本文首先分析英、汉语标点符号之间存在的差异,后以《2021年国务院政府工作报告》为例,归纳总结四种常见标点符号的汉英翻译技巧:对译、转译、增译和省译,为相关翻译提供参考借鉴。

The rendering of punctuation marks is an indispensible part of the translation process and contributes greatly to quality assurance of translation work.As world languages are a diversified system,the punctuation marks in Chinese and English,among others,may not be respectively matched for shift in translation.This article,based on a summary of the punctuation marks in these two languages,explores the techniques for translating some major punctuations,citing the case of The Report on the Work of the Government of PRC 2021.
