浅析马来西亚华文媒体的中国观——以《南洋商报》对“南海仲裁案”的报道为例

An Analysis of the View of China in Malaysian Chinese Media:Take Nanyang Business Daily’s Report on the SouthChina Sea Arbitration Case as an Example

南海问题的东南亚主要争端国媒体和美国、日本等国媒体,在涉南海问题报道时常常扭曲中国形象,渲染中国的强硬和威胁,把中国塑造成破坏地区和平的国家,给南海问题的和平解决带来挑战。马来西亚华文媒体《南洋商报》在“南海仲裁案”后关于南海问题的新闻报道,总体较为客观。该报认为中马在南海问题上没有明显冲突,但在报道中提及中国在南海的军事演习、军事建设等情况,认为中国武器先进,具有一定“威胁性”;经济力量强大,有吸引力;外交上强势、强硬。总而言之,该报在一定程度担心中国崛起而带来的“威胁”。作为华文媒体,《南洋商报》涉南海问题报道所体现的中国观在东南亚国家具有一定代表性。中国应完善对外传播,加强在东南亚的软实力建设,让中国在南海问题上得到更多信任和支持,为南海问题的最终和平解决营造良好的舆论氛围。

The media of southeast Asia major disputed countries and those of the United States,Japan and other countries in the South China Sea issue often distort China’s image,portray China’s toughness and threats,portray China as a country that undermines regional peace,and pose challenges to the peaceful settlement of the South China Sea issue.The news reports on the South China Sea issue after the South China Sea Arbitration Case by Nanyang Business Daily,the Chinese language media of Malaysia is generally more objective.The newspaper said there was no apparent conflict between China and Malaysia over the South China Sea,but referred to China's military exercises and construction in the South China Sea,saying that China’s advanced weapons were“threatening”;All in all,the paper is somehow concerned about the“threat”posed by China’s rise.As a Chinese language media,Nanyang Business Daily’s report on the South China Sea issue embodies a certain representative view of China in Southeast Asian countries.China should improve its external communication,strengthen its soft power in Southeast Asia,so that China can gain more trust and support over the South China Sea issue,and create a favorable atmosphere of public opinion for the final peaceful settlement of the South China Sea issue.
