Qiu Jun’s Ethnic Group and Frontier Concept

丘濬在族群观念上,延续了传统的“内华夏外夷狄”观念,并进一步将之理论化、系统化。在边疆观念上,丘濬秉持防御立场,认可长城防御的历史价值,并重视北方族群在中国历史上的军事作用。丘濬的族群与边疆观念,呈现出内敛、保守的立场,是明代内敛国策的思想投射与历史反映。

Qiu Jun continued the traditional concept of“barbarians outside Huaxia race”in the concept of ethnic groups,and further theorized and systematized it.In the concept of frontier,Qiu Jun upheld the defensive position and recognized the historical value of the Great Wall defense,and paid attention to the military role of northern ethnic groups in Chinese history.Qiu Jun’s concept of ethnic group and frontier presented an introverted and conservative position,which was the ideological projection and historical reflection of the introverted national policy of the Ming Dynasty.
