《维米尔的野心》一书出版于1993年,是法国艺术史家达尼埃尔·阿拉斯继《细节——一部贴近绘画的历史》后的又一力作。通过贴近维米尔的生活、艺术、信仰,并细读他的绘画作品,作者深入画家创作过程的核心理念及其图像制作方式,探索其作品在17世纪荷兰绘画背景下的原创性与诗意品质。
L'Ambition de Vermeer,published in 1993,is the great follow-up to Le Détail.Pour une histoire rapprochée de la peinture by French art historian Daniel Arasse.By getting close to Vermeer's life,art and beliefs and through a close reading of his paintings,the author gets to the heart of his creative process and his approach to image-making,and explores the originality and poetic quality of his work in the context of 17th century Dutch painting.
