人工智能时代翻译学习者机器翻译技术的运用策略 被引量:1

Translation Learners’ Strategies of Applying Machine Translation Technology in the Era of Artificial Intelligence

摘要 机器翻译在人工智能的帮助下,翻译质量突飞猛进,这对翻译学习者而言是一把双刃剑。为了让机器翻译技术更好地服务于翻译教学和翻译学习,本文分别就教师的机器翻译技术教学策略和学习者的机器翻译技术自主学习策略展开讨论。作为教师,应当首先为学习者选出优秀的机器翻译软件,然后借助该软件区分出翻译水平低于机器者和翻译水平高于机器者两个学习者群体,并针对不同的群体采取不同的教学策略:引导前者向机器学习,指导后者进行译后编辑训练,同时应采取措施竭力避免学习者滥用机器翻译。作为学习者,应摆脱对机器的依赖,将机器翻译作为提高翻译能力的手段,同时也可以合理利用机器翻译来提升包括阅读、写作、词汇在内的英语基础能力。 With the help of artificial intelligence, the quality of machine translation has improved by leaps and bounds, which means a double-edged sword for the translation learners. In order to make the machine translation technology serve translation teaching and learning better, this paper discusses the teaching strategies for the teachers and the autonomous learning strategies for the learners with machine translation technology. As teachers, choosing a good machine translation software/system for the students is the first thing to do. Then, they should distinguish with the help of the software/system between the two groups of learners: those whose level of translation competence is lower than the machine and those higher than it. Subsequently, they should treat different groups with different teaching strategies: guiding the former group through learning from the machine and instructing the latter to practice post-editing. Meanwhile, they should take measures to prevent learners from abusive use of machine translation. As learners, they should break away from the dependence on the machine and take it as a means to improve their translation competence instead. At the same time, they can properly use machine translation to improve their basic English skills, including reading, writing and vocabulary.
